Another successful sunny days cricket last Saturday.
Thank you all for your participation and good spirit.
The starting times are important and as we play 2 games on the one pitch , it affects all 4 teams involved.
20/20 matches are designed to be played in 3 hours. This works only if the pitch is ready on time and the game starts promptly and the game itself is played with a sense of urgency and momentum. ie next bat already padded up and quick change of batsmen , next bowler already notified etc.
So please Captains it is your responsibility that all your teams know the start time and that the nominated set up team( this sat Vinohrady ) is at the container at 11.00 sharp. I have authority to award penalty points to teams that do not respect these timings.
Further issue that affects the end of the day. Can each team bring its own black bin bag and clear its rubbish as it leaves after the end of each game. At present a lot is left for the final team to clear away, or worse still left on the ground or under the trees.
We spoke to one of the groundsmen mowing the park at the beginning of the season and this was a complaint he had from last year. We do need the continuing goodwill of Prague 6 and would not want to lose it through carelessness.
Also we want to keep the area we play tidy for outside events eg Ambassador day.
On that point there is a planning meeting for June 23 on tues June 5 20.00 at Vinohrady Sokol Bar. Participation and ideas ( Asian food. loan of a tent ) welcome.
Thank you for your understanding
Simon
