An ultimately disappointing result after an excellent display in the field was followed by another poor batting display.
Winning the toss the skipper put PCC into bat with the aim to put them under pressure from the start and that's excatly how it worked. A fantastic bowling display rolled PCC over for 78. Excellent bowling all round with the exception of the captain. Scott with 5 wickets and Brigham3 and Alastair 2 did the damage, backed up by Ben who was incredibly unlucky to remain wicketless despite a superb spell. 4 catches (and a drop) for Martin and 2 for Mik together were part of a great all round fielding display left Vinohrady favourites to win.
However, PCC had other ideas and left us reeling at 17 for 4, including a highly controversial dismissal. Vinohrady continued to battle though with Jeremy playing a superb innings to bat into the penultimate over, unfortunately only Martin, with 16, gave any support and during a 6th wicket partnership of 35 Vinohrady once again became favourites before a tumble of wickets at the end left the winos 5 runs short. Special mention should go to PCC's Raj for a superb bowling spell to finish off our chances.
Well played everyone and lets hope we can improve our batting and give Bohemians a real surprise.
